In Salt Lake County, Utah mother nature keeps pouring down snow and residents here are more than ready for sunshine and warmer weather.
So how about a trip to some favorite desert escapes?

“Desert Symphony”(above) and “Blooming Desert” (below) are inspired by hikes in Sedona, Arizona.
The great rock formations in the landscape of Sedona, Arizona are incredible and yet there is something poetic about the cacti and other desert plants that in spite of heat, dryness, and adversity, they still flourish and bloom.

Zion’s vast space, and towering rock formations leave one breathless. Fall is a particularly favorite time to visit the Canyon as the tourists slow down and the color amps up.
Painted on location, the warm glow of the yellow Cottonwoods against purple shadows of the canyon walls were great inspiration for “Zion’s
“Vista” was also painted on location. This Antelope Island vista offered a beautiful overlook of the great Salt Lake and valley below, but the focal point became the overlook itself, with it’s jagged rocks and yellow rabbit bush lit by morning sunshine
